How to prepare for your class


Doing yoga in a heated room could be very challenging for the first time. We prepared a little guide for you to make sure you’ll leave our studio with only positive experience after your first yoga class.


Hydration

If you plan on doing yoga, hydrate properly before the lesson. We recommend you bring a big bottle of still water to the class and drink if you feel the need.

Food

If coming to a morning class, you should eat a light breakfast (i.e. banana or yogurt) at least one hour before the start of class to enhance your energy. If you plan to do yoga in the afternoon or evening, refrain from heavy meals 3-4 hours prior to class.

Clothing

For Hot Yoga we recommend shorts or leggings and sportbras or tanktops for women; for men also shorts, t-shirt is optional. Be prepared! By the end of the class your clothes will be soaked in sweat, so be considerate of your fellow yogis (e.g. no white bras, white t-shirts, white shorts, etc.) If you want to buy clothes especially for hot yoga, check out Dogdays yoga wear.

What to bring

Please bring two towels, one for the shower and a bigger one to put on your yoga mat for hygienic reasons. In addition, bring sandals and a big bottle of still water. Use sandals around the studio as the floor can be slippery from sweat. You can rent and also buy yoga mats, towels and mineral water if you don’t care to supply your own.

Arrive earlier

There’s no booking in advance, you may attend any class that you see in the schedule but please arrive 20-25 minutes prior to class to allow enough time for registration.

Take it easy

Be patient and honest with yourself. Your body needs a few classes to get comfortable with this new environment. Feel free to sit down and relax for a few minutes if you feel it’s necessary. It may happen that someone needs some rest in front of you, so be patient with others as well. Remember the shortest distance between two people is a smile.

Yoga etiquette

  • Please arrive earlier! The class starts on time if you’re late, without you.
  • Please leave your mobile in your locker silence mode. You’re not allowed to take it to the hot room. If you somehow forgot about it, your instructor will help you and take it to the reception.
  • Please refrain from strong parfume and don’t use any warm up or anti-cellulite cream with menthol. You can take shower before class if needed.
  • Please don’t touch the heating system or the radiators. Trust your instructor who knows what is the perfect condition where you can bring out the best of yourself and get the most benefits of your practice.
  • Please stay in the room until the end of the class. If you have to leave with emergency do it in the small breaks between postures.
  • If you feel a little under the weather, give yourself enough time for full recovery and then only come back to practice.
